A group of six quirky but doughty kids encounter the trail of a immense and fearsome paranormal darkness that has infiltrated our world from the farthest reaches of shadow. They have no choice but to devote their lives confronting it, facing terror upon terror in the process.

An Echoing Plot with a New Approach

This describes the premise, in essence, of the master of horror’s iconic book It (a standout in his career; no arguments). It parallels of Stephen King’s offspring Joseph Hillstrom King’s recent horror doorstopper, in which a close-knit group invoke the primordial, deeply sinister beast the Dragon King from the Endless Night to help them defeat some villains. Celebrating a Family Heritage

It’s a tour de force: a horror novel that is chiefly a paean to the imagination, and to devotion and companionship. “We needed a story to believe and {now we’ve got one|presently we possess it|currently we hold it,” says Colin as the allies gather at the table, preparing to summon their beast into being with the force of their minds.
