Salah Offers Apology to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah apologised to the team following the uproar from his televised remarks.

The Fallout

Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to criticising the club and claiming his relationship with manager had soured.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

Arne Slot has chosen not to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

The player stated that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the games following the situation. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, playing well and on a positive run.”
