The Liverpool midfielder has shared that Salah apologised to the team following the uproar from his televised remarks.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”

The player stated that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was the exact same Mo, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is preferable. “I get that there are different methods you can express yourself,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
