JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution isn't exactly an original feature. Instead, the recent cinematic release from the JuJutsu Kaisen fantasy saga is a compilation of the series' second installment merged with the first two episodes of its third season, which launches the Culling Games narrative from the source material. This establishes Execution, which recently received a fresh preview, the earliest way to see the start of the upcoming season ahead of its 2026 January debut. The film debuts in Japanese theaters on November 7, and in the United States and Canada on December 5.

The Culling Games Arc

In the Culling Games storyline, Special Grade sorcerer Yuta Okkotsu makes his entrance into the anime series and is tasked by jujutsu higher-ups to eliminate his classmate Yuji Itadori. Their much-anticipated fight occurs for the initial time on the cinema screen, and if the animation team at the production house have a treat as episodes 40 and 41 in store for fans this festive season, JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution may turn out to be the present that we've been waiting for.

The "Thunderclap" Controversy

"Thunderclap" from season 2 is frequently praised as a top-tier scene in anime history, despite all the controversy in the previous year when the series first premiered. It was reported that the creators were suffering from harsh deadlines to the extent, and the final version that aired at the time was unfinished and allegedly not what the team initially intended.

Audiences were aware of the issues behind the scenes, which made them appreciate what they viewed even more. People anxiously checked to see if the Blu-ray, made available on March 18, would include new footage to the battle or to see if it was improved in any way, and were elated to see precisely that, alongside tone adjustments, smoother movement, and different color grading.
