Bills' Disappointing Performance Gives Patriots Route to Top Spot - Best of NFL Week 10

The tenth week again delivered, with a major surprise for the Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' mantra that draws so many people into the NFL
This outcome may have opened things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a leading position they used to occupy, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Meanwhile in the National Football Conference the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams had perfect results to set up a monster clash in week 11, while our player of the week is chasing records as well as the MVP award
The Breakdown - Simply an Off Day for Buffalo?
Could it simply have been an emotional comedown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? That's the question for the Buffalo team to answer
The Bills had secured seven victories in a row against the Dolphins but were second best from the beginning as the Dolphins ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP Josh Allen only achieved the team's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the fourth - yes the Dolphins had 10 days to prepare but it was still a significant failure produced by one of the NFL's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua passed for two touchdowns but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns
Containing the NFL's top rushing attack was also key, with James Cook and company registering just eighty-six yards, their lowest of the year and just over half their 161.5-yard average
Then there were the three critical turnovers, and the pair from Josh Allen specifically. An interception in the end zone resulting in a nine-minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter fumble that the Dolphins turned into seven points just later
It was classic 'old Buffalo' as they hurt themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen attempting to overcompensate to dig his team from the situation - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've witnessed this season
The Dolphins have served up a bit of everything this year so the verdict is uncertain on if this is the start of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an instant response in a tough game against Tampa Bay in week 11 as the New England are sneaking into a nice lead at the top of the AFC East
In Focus - New England See Path to Unexpected First Place
Regarding the New England, they're among three different 8-2 squads in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but could they be the best?
You can find flaws in New England, Denver and the Colts actually for feasting on the lesser sides, with only five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts defeating the Denver
The Broncos beat the champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the Patriots including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their two defeats occurred in recently appointed coach Mike Vrabel's first three contests, with seven straight wins, just like Denver, from that point - but taking down Baker Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to get ready was huge
Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials won't go away, and he definitely earns point for courage after absorbing some savage hits in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his team to victory
The defensive unit is solid and first-year rusher TreVeyon Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth ball carrier to exceed 22mph this season on his initial touchdown
Although you can debate who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the best record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, although a huge one against Buffalo
Visiting the Ravens is also tough, but Denver have it even tougher in the AFC West with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also challenge for top seed but face the identical challenge) and also the Green Bay on the schedule
The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two matchups with the five and four Jacksonville to face. There is a considerable distance to go but the door is available for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference
Next Week - Los Angeles and Seattle Set for Week 11 Showdown
Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three eight and two teams are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Los Angeles, who both put up 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of next week's major meeting between the two in Los Angeles
They've both secured four victories in a consecutive games, have quarterbacks in Stafford and Darnold performing at an elite level (although Sam Darnold had ball security problems on Sunday) with excellent pass catchers, and defenses allowing fewer than twenty points a game
Each could easily be without a loss as well - particularly the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that painful defeat in Philly when they had a game-winning field goal with the final play blocked and run back by the Eagles for a score
Seattle also lost to San Francisco, with a last-minute score in week one, before falling to the final play of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're truly two of the top teams in the league
The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year to date
Top Performer - Jonathan Taylor
Taylor could be on for a historic year after his incredible display in Germany - running for 244 rushing yards, registering three scores and adding another forty-two {receiving yards
